This morning, May 19, 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Cultural, Physical Education, and Sports Square in Cần Giờ District officially took place. This project holds special significance, as it will create a venue for political, cultural, sports, and festival events, while also serving as a recreational space for both residents and tourists.
Before the official ceremony began, the delegation paid their respects at the Rừng Sác Hero and Martyrs Temple and the Rừng Sác Martyrs Cemetery in Cần Giờ, expressing deep gratitude to those who sacrificed for the nation.
The ceremony was attended by leaders from Cần Giờ District, Cần Thạnh town leaders, representatives of the investor (Cần Giờ District Regional Investment and Construction Project Management Board), representatives from Phước Thành contractor, along with representatives from various departments, agencies, and the construction team.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyễn Ngọc Xuân – Member of the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cần Giờ District, emphasized:
“The investment and construction of the Cần Giờ District Cultural, Physical Education and Sports Square is a project of particularly important local significance. The project is being built at the existing Rừng Sác Square, covering an area of approximately 9.4 hectares with a total investment of nearly 250 billion VND. Once completed and operational, the square will become a community cultural space, a venue for political, cultural, and sports events, and a tourism highlight. It will also contribute to preserving and promoting the historical and traditional cultural values of the heroic Cần Giờ land.”
Representing the contractor Phước Thành, Mr. Nguyễn Quang Ngọc, the Project Director, made the following commitments:
- On-schedule construction: Completing the work according to the proposed plan, ensuring timely handover.
- Quality assurance: Strictly adhering to technical standards, utilizing advanced materials and technologies to create a sustainable and safe structure.
- Safety and environment: Implementing labor safety measures and environmental protection throughout the construction process, contributing to preserving the landscape and the lives of surrounding residents.
- Close cooperation: Seamlessly coordinating with the investor, supervision consultant, and all relevant parties to ensure the project achieves maximum efficiency.
